Pollutant Mutant is done!


After two weeks and just in time for the jam submission, Pollutant Mutant is ready for download!
The last day of work was mostly adding in music/sfx, a new sprite for the background and cleaning up some of the text menu things, among a few other minor tweaks.  I was super stoked to learn how to make the music gradually evolve between phases and keep in sync.  And with my background in making weird techno it was really fun to apply that to this project to really put my artistic musical stamp on this in some way.

Overall I definitely learned a lot during this jam, mostly that game dev is definitely not easy and you have to put in a lot of hours for what may seem like minimal results.   But in the end I feel very satisfied to have made this after about one month of tutorial studying, two weeks of direct work for the game jam, and zero background in coding.  Definitely looking forward to starting another project soon, and maybe even a further update of this one once I have a few more tools under my belt.  A lot of other features I had in mind did not make the cut, so we'll see!
